Improving fertility through women's health

Updated: Oct 20, 2022

How can you improve your chances of becoming pregnant by optimising your diet?

Charlotte discusses this below!

Yes! What you eat can have a big impact on your ability to become pregnant. For women, optimising your diet can impact your egg health and therefore your fertility.

Increase your ability to get pregnant naturally by adopting these three key lessons:

1) Find your healthy weight.

While I'm not a big fan of promoting weight loss, finding your healthy weight (which may be different to what your GP, the BMI calculators or Instagram tells you it should be!) is going to benefit your egg health.

Aside from your egg health, its also a really good time to think about any bad habits you've picked up over the years, and how this might be picked up by your future children. If you notice your grabbing takeaway foods a bit too often, having more coke than water or spending 99% of your day sat down, use your future child's health as motivator to get you on track to your healthiest version of yourself!

2) Hello, Anti Oxidants!

Antioxidants are so healthy for us, and when it comes to egg health, its worth putting hight antioxidant foods at the top of your shopping list.

Don't worry, it doesn't have to be anything crazy like Amazonian cocoa hand picked under a full moon while the Scarlet Macaws do a once-in-a-lifetime mating dance. Just load up on fruits and veggies, add some frozen blueberries to your morning oats, and indulge in some dark chocolate every once in a while. Sorted!

3) Increase the Omega-3

If you're thinking fish, you are on the right track. There are lots of healthy fish high in omega-3, which are great for your eggs. While tuna is ok, salmon is better, and gold standard would be mackerel, trout, sardines, cod, herring.

Not a fish eater? Add some flax and chia seeds to your breakfast, load up your sandwich with avocado, drizzle some olive oil over your salad or snack on a handful of nuts.
